SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM Saturday report
Anthony Davidson
“Today was quite an tough qualifying for everyone in the team. The boys did a great job; I put a great lap together and I’m very proud of everyone and the job we have done all week. The car had quite a good balance, as good as it could be for qualifying, and I would like to personally thank my engineer Richard Lane for doing such a great job all weekend.”
Takuma Sato
“I think we made some improvement from yesterday. The first and second runs in Qualifying seemed to be getting better all the time, but I was surprised that on the very last run there was a change in balance and I had understeer. I then couldn’t improve my time as much as I wanted as it wasn’t the cleanest lap. Overall we did make the right progress, so it was quite a good day.”
Graham Taylor, Sporting Director
“It was actually quite a good Saturday for us. The cars ran reliably and the team went about their business in the normal manner. Anthony found the best balance for his last run in qualifying, whilst Takuma just lost out. The Super Aguri F1 Team once again showed determination by being even closer to our next opponent than in Bahrain. We are all looking forward to racing tomorrow.” |

another hot, exausting day at the track. I went there alone (my friends are going tomorrow with me) , meet few english people on the train station, so we were traveled together, had few drinks, till they went right to the grandstands, and me left to the general admission lovely hills. I manage to see one guy with SA cap, and one was wearing SA shirt, but he had toyota cap and my relligion deosn't allow me to speak with that sort of people when I was walking around before the gp2 race, I (thank god:) run to two lovely japanese SA fans yusuke and reiko, so we watched the race together, and after that, behind start/finish line (where the official shops are situated, btw from 50-60 different shops, I manage to find only one, that has some SA stuff-cap....you can even buy much more force india stuff than SA )
and then there was some formula bmw junior race, and the grandstands were free to enter. so we went inside , and walked to the SA pits. (it was at least 5:30 pm), two guys were cleaning the pits, and we wawed to them for 5-6 minutes, but they didn't see us better luck next time. and when we were coming back, one guy was asking us: ok, what does each of you three work in SA? _________________ DIP, Zeko |

Race results:
1 K. Räikkönen Ferrari 1:38:19.051
2 F. Massa Ferrari + 3.228
3 L. Hamilton McLaren + 4.187
4 R. Kubica BMW + 5.694
5 M. Webber Red Bull + 35.938
6 J. Button Honda + 53.010
7 K. Nakajima Williams + 58.244
8 J. Trulli Toyota + 59.435
9 N. Heidfeld BMW + 1:03.073
10 G. Fisichella Force India F1 + 1 laps
11 T. Glock Toyota + 1 laps
12 D. Coulthard Red Bull + 1 laps
13 T. Sato Super Aguri + 1 laps
Did not finish
14 N. Rosberg Williams + 25 laps
15 F. Alonso Renault + 32 laps
16 R. Barrichello Honda + 32 laps
17 H. Kovalainen McLaren + 45 laps
18 A. Davidson Super Aguri + 58 laps
19 S. Bourdais Scuderia Toro Rosso + 58 laps
20 N. Piquet jr. Renault + 59 laps
21 S. Vettel Scuderia Toro Rosso + 66 laps
22 A. Sutil Force India F1 + 66 laps
Well, we have to be happy with the result in general. Davidson had something go into his radiators which broke down the car. But Sato really fought great today. Had the race been just 3 laps shorter, Sato would have beaten Coulthard.
Apart from a few incidents, very boring race. |

i agree that it was a boring race
but last few laps were pretty exciting watching coulthard trying to overtake on sato, taku made some nice moves to block him but oulthard was in a (way)fater car after all
taku says that he was pleased with the result.
hope to see them in Istanbul! _________________ BMW POWER

SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM Sunday report
Takuma Sato
“It was a hard race, but I enjoyed it. The start was reasonably good and I overtook a few cars. Ahead of me a few cars had a coming together and I could not avoid them and lost part of the nose, which then obviously affected my aero balance. The team said that the car looked okay, so we just fought our way through the rest of the race. At one stage we were up in the middle, running as high as ninth, and that was a fantastic feeling. The boys did a great job under difficult circumstances this weekend. I am very happy for them and all the people who are supporting us and I just hope that we can keep this momentum going.”
Anthony Davidson
“It was a disappointing end to the weekend for me. After Piquet ran wide at the beginning of the race he dragged a lot of gravel on to the track and a stone from that then damaged my water radiator, putting me out of the race. I got a good start and felt comfortable in the car up to that point, so it is a shame to have retired so early, but I’d like to thank everyone in the team for their hard work and determination this weekend.”
Aguri Suzuki, Team Principal
“It was a tough race with only just over half of the competitors crossing the finish line. Despite the fact that we did not attend the test here last week, both drivers and all the mechanics and engineers have done a great job today. I am sorry for Anthony as he retired due to damage to his radiator, but he did a great job at the start. Taku had a very good race in a difficult situation and came home in 13th position, which is our best result so far this season. It has been a difficult weekend for everybody in our team and I would like to thank our partners and the fans for their continued support.” |

mission(s) complete!!!
today was much less exhausting (spellchecker?) day, but far more enjoyable.
I went to the track with two of my friends who didn't have tickets. so they were waiting in line to buy GA tickets, and than the office was closed (in my opinon sth. like million people can have GA ticket). so one buy the GA ticket for 100 e (I paid 130 ) from one guy, and another payed also 100e for grandstand L , the ticket originially costs 337 e so we (as we are always 'easy going') managed to see only for 1 second , from the bridge, the drivers parade at 12:30..and after drinking at the track 0.5 beer for 8 euros (each) goddammit! , we split, friend (let's call him Mr. A) with the grandstands ticket went to the grandstand, and we were walking around...the start went nice, and although our drivers were last. taku was improving lap by lap. (I couldn't see why ant was out-now I read about it). and at 2:30 as planned Mr. A, went out of grandstand, to give me his ticket for 20 minutes...I will try to keep it short: last 5-6 laps all three of us were at the L grandstands watching the race (great view on two different spots), although everyone had to pass by two ticket checkpoints
so, after the race was finished, I managed to get to the main grandstands (again), and there I met (again) two lovely japanese fans from saturday (obviously, we are thinking the same way ), and there was also one 'new' SA japanese girl fan, that I unfortunatly forgot the name (sth. with K, W, and Y ). she saw my message at takumasato.com forum.
but this time, we had far more luck, lot of SA mechanics wawed back to us, one mechanic came accross the track to accept my humble presents (massive respect to him!), and later taku came to the pits with some fans, and when he saw us, he also wawed to us...he had nice shirt, almost same as mine
and also, I saw some guy in ugly looking green trousers in our pits
and I also, also, heard that we will be racing in turkey for sure
and when we ( my friend and me) were coming back to the train, finally I saw, and bought, without any hesitaion japanese flag
