Great race for the Super Aguri team! Beating a Red Bull and a Force India on pure pace! And lots of fighting between Sato-Davidson having raced together for most of the GP.
Very boring race, though. |

SAF1 - Sunday report
TAKUMA SATO Car 18 (SA08A-06)
Position 17 No: of Laps 56 Fastest Lap Time 1:35.891 (lap 56)
ANTHONY DAVIDSON Car 19 (SA08A-05)
Position 16 No: of Laps 56 Fastest Lap Time 1:35.324 (lap 45)
Weather Warm and dry (19.8-25.8% day relative humidity)
Air Temperature 28.0-30.1°C (day min-max)
Track Temperature 34.2-39.7°C (day min-max)
SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM drivers Anthony Davidson and Takuma Sato did exactly what the team had planned for this weekend and brought the two SA08A’s home to take the chequered flag at the 2008 Grand Prix of Bahrain in 16th and 17th positions respectively.
Takuma Sato;
“I had an eventful few opening laps and I really enjoyed going through the middle of the pack. I had a little bit of contact and possibly damaged the aero, but nevertheless I got up to 14th position and that was exciting. After the first lap there was quite a lot of oil on the track and that was a dangerous situation, but we got over it and I think that we had a good race. We had a problem in the second pitstop, which cost me position, but in the end it was very important that we finished the race here today and hopefully we can keep up the momentum.”
Anthony Davidson;
“It was an enjoyable race today. To come home with another two-car finish is great for the team. I had a bit of traffic for the first two stints of the race, but then once that cleared I was able to get into a good rhythm. It was another strong race for me and I would like to thank the team for all their hard work this weekend.”
Aguri Suzuki, Team Principal;
“It was good for the team to have another two-car finish, but it is frustrating that we did not have more pace as the drivers did an excellent job. We have collected a good amount of data but shall have to work on improving our performance for the next grand prix in Barcelona.”

yes i thought the race was dull too
maybe cos i was too hyped for the race
its bahrain, so i was expecting plenty of sliding and spinning and overtaking
bugger!
i thought taku had an interesting moment with the ailing lewis
covered all the corners when lewis was trying to take him, the only way lewis finally took taku was at the pit straight, on his car's sheer pace
interestingly, same thing happened when lewis was trying to take giancarlo after that. pit straight overtake.
