SUPER AGURI F1 TEAM commenced its final test of 2007 at the Jerez circuit today with James Rossiter at the helm of the driving duties.

In the cooler December temperatures in Spain, the primary focus of today’s programme, the first day of the team’s planned four-day test, was to evaluate and continue to understand the MES controls

system which was utilised for the first time two weeks ago at the last official test in Barcelona. The new MES controls system is mandatory for all teams in 2008, which no longer supports traction control, and the team will spend all of this week to further their knowledge by collecting data.

James ran the new 2009 season ‘slick’ tyres for the first time in the afternoon and spent time evaluating mechanical and aerodynamic set-ups to suit the tyre configuration. He ended the day with the 12
th fastest lap time of 1:21.246.
