The full ITV report reads: Davo hails 'unbelievable' Super Aguri Thursday, 19, April, 2007, 12:10 Anthony Davidson says that his performance in the Bahrain Grand Prix - where he ran as high as sixth - is just the start for Super Aguri. Formula 1's newest team has made a massive step forward in 2007 and battled with Toyota, Red Bull, Williams and even champion squad Renault in recent races. "Our speed still varies from race to race, but don't write off Super Aguri yet," Davidson told Autosport magazine. "We were held up by a Renault in Bahrain - and that's unbelievable." Davidson ultimately retired with engine failure at Sakhir, but he believes it is only a matter of time before Super Aguri fulfils its promise and finishes in the points for the first time. "Every time we get the car right, we're going to be teetering on the edge of points," he promised. "A point wasn't off the scale and a place in the top 10 was very much within our sights." He added that he was relishing his chance to impress in racing conditions after years as a test and reserve driver for BAR/Honda. "I just wanted to show everybody the pace that I knew I had in all those Friday sessions," said Davidson. |
