Yuji had a good track record (see his link to his fan site for details) and he needed that to get him through the first few races. Yuji has a lot to learn, and a lot to control during this first season. His first few races showed the mixture of inexperience of F1 and the expertise of a racing driver. This has to be expected, but Yuji has to be a fast leaner with many other things to do as a test driver for a new team. His skill at describing the car and the setups to the engineers will be vital. Every new team needs data, data, and more data, but the feedback from the driver is even more important. So all three drivers have to ensure they communicate this well.
