Takuma Sato and Anthony Davidson are both very upbeat about their chances of scoring SAF1's maiden points in 2007.

In separate interviews, both drivers are talking about midfield expectations.

On Sunday, Taku was interviewed several times at the Autosport International show in Birmingham, and repeatedly spoke of aiming for points in every race. This comes as a big change to the team's goals in 2006 - where finishing both cars was the target. For 2007 it will be points finishes in all races as the team strives for midfield, and beating a works car.

On Monday, in an interview filmed for ITV, we can exclusively reveal that Anthony is just as confident in gaining points. Points gained by Anthony for SAF1 would also be his maiden F1 points, and that would be a great achievement in his first serious season as a driver.

A senior team member spoke to me about the chasis ... "We will own the intellectual rights to our chassis" when asked about 2007's new car. "We will be within the Regulations ... people will be upset, but this is racing" he said. On Sunday, Taku had answered "Basically, it will be our chassis". It is expected that all will be revealled at the end of February, with the launch of the new car, possibly in Tokyo.

I asked ITV's Martin Brundle whether all the posturing about the chasis was just the normal out-of-season arguments designed to get F1 and team names into the papers. He thinks not - he thinks it is all very serious, and comes down to money earned from the teams at the end of the season. Spyker and Williams are both likely to loose a lot of money if SAF1 leap-frog them up the constructor's table - hence their objections.

Read more about what Martin Brundle thought about Taku and Anthony, in the next few days ... I have lots to write about. Cool
