Japanese driver Takuma Sato will lose ten places on the starting grid for the Chinese Grand Prix after his Super Aguri team replaced his engine. The Super Aguri driver used a new Honda engine at the Italian Grand Prix and was scheduled to use it again in Shanghai, but the team have been forced to replace the unit, meaning Sato will start from the back of the grid. Brazilian Honda driver Rubens Barrichello has escaped a penalty despite his team having to work on his engine. Two of the FIA's seals on the engine of Barrichello's car had to be broken to replace oil scavenge pump rotors following the Italian Grand Prix. The work was done under supervision from the FIA and Barrichello will not get a penalty.
