In 2005, the fans of Takuma Sato showed their support for him by carrying a banner (flag) to every race. Takuma showed his support and appreciation of the project by arranging to meet the fans and sign the banner at each race. At the end of the season, the banner was auctioned and raised £1,280 for a children’s charity … helping a hydration programme save the lives of over 8,000 children in devastated parts of the world. In 2007 it is proposed that we SAF1 fans do something similar to show our support of Taku, Sakon and the team. So, we are looking for ideas and volunteers. People who intend to go to a Grand Prix are invited to help us take the project to that race. In 2005, the Banner Project brought dozens of fans closer together and inspired meetings at the races.
