Monaco 2007 will not go down in history as one of the great races. Yet again we see poor luck hitting our team, and even a little poor judgement. Others didn't fair any better during a processional race either. Lets look at the events... |

The haze of the track was rising. Shimmering cars heading towards me, one out of the pit lane, one down the main straight. I could see the different colours, but I couldn’t tell whether one was ahead of the other or not. As the mirages became more solid, I could ‘see’ the gap developing. The push had been enough. Takuma’s red and white car came into view at full speed and the Renault was slightly slower. As they passed my seat, Taku was ahead. With just five laps to go, Takuma had moved into the points for the new team. |

Something which I didn’t discuss in my other reports of the opening Grand Prix was Kangaroo TV. Kangaroo is a hand-held device which enhances the experience of sitting at the race. Melbourne was the first ever F1 race that it was available at but it has just been announced that they will be at every race this year...

In recent years, new venues have been added and traditional venues lost from the F1 circus that Bernie Ecclestone sends around the world. Like the Roman gladiator games in ancient times, an F1 GP is seen as a favour to a city – fought for politically and financially. So what should we, as fans, be asking of a modern F1 host? |

Where to start, hmm. Well, all was almost set for me to travel to Malaysia – but I was having trouble getting excited. F1 should be exciting, but having done the same trip for the past few years meant that I was almost in ‘automatic’ mode. Not good. So when Yusze put up the thread “Anyone coming to the Australian GP?” and James made an offer of accommodation, I was very tempted – and excited by the prospect of visiting the GP I thought might always be too far away. |
